How much does it cost to participate?
The price is $30 per course or $45 total if you sign up for both HooverCodes and HooverEntrepreneurs. We plan on using half of our profits to purchase laptops and donate them to libraries and schools around Birmingham.
Do I have to live in Hoover in order to participate in HooverCamp?
Due to the pandemic, HooverCamp has gone online, meaning that people from anywhere can participate in HooverCamp.
How do we pay for HooverCamp?
After you sign up through our registration form, we will email you payment details. We offer PayPal and Venmo.
If I sign up for HooverCodes, do I have to sign up for HooverEntrepreneurs as well?
No, HooverEntrepreneurs and HooverCodes are branches of HooverCamp. Signing up for one branch does not mean you must sign up for the other.
Are there any discounts available?
Yes! For each referral that signs up for any HooverCamp course, you will both receive a $5 discount.
My child doesn't have a webcam but is really interested in HooverCamp. What should I do?
Webcams are mainly needed in order to improve the quality of HooverCamp and make students feel more comfortable while talking to their peers. However, if it is not possible for you to get a webcam, that is completely fine. A webcam is highly recommended.
My child really wants to participate in HooverCamp but we can't afford it. What should I do?
We offer spaced payment plans and financial aid.

My child doesn't have a laptop but is really interested in this program. What should I do?
We recommend using laptops for Scratch. However, Scratch can be used on tablets. Please keep in mind it's exponentially harder to use Scratch on tablets in comparison to laptops.
